Can anybody post a guide or give any hints and gimmecks about recording/streaming this game? I decided to give it a try in streaming to twitch and found a barrage of shit not working. First, the only thing I could achieve with OBS for vanilla Diablo was rainbow-color recording through monitor with a region 640x480, couldn't come up with any color workaround. Then I tried the windewed mod whick worked for streaming. But whenever I get into the game my mic cuts out and I have no idea how to fix it - trying to stream the game fullscreen. If trying to stream it windowed, the mouse is not locked to the window which causes a lot of unnecessary frustration. Basically, Diablo does everything it can so that I wouldn't stream it. Can anyone please help? I'm really at the end of my patience here...

I used to stream it with OBS 0.63b test version using game capture, which on said version works well and doesn't on newer versions lol.
If you want to see chat you would need a second monitor or sth, or run diablo windowed/in vm and use window capture.

Well, the described version thing I did not know. Windowed mode sucks because mouse isn't locked, vm sucks because there is a noticeable delay. I can see chat on my iPhone, if my Wi-Fi doesn't suddenly decide not to reach it. Yea, I only got a black screen when I tried game capture with OBS. Gonna try the version you named.

To capture your mouse inside window you can use WMC program.

Thank you, I will take a note of that and will try it if I attempt a window capture again. I appreciate your help.

Test version 0.63b still leaves me with a black screen, its game capture doesn't work with diablo for me. Why would that be? Any special compatibility modes needed for Diablo wo work like that?

You need a ddraw wrapper to run the game in windowed mode, then use window capture in OBS.
I still have all the files from when I was streaming for the IM tournament, so if you need the exact setup I can just zip it up for you.

I would be relieved to have it. Just asking, does the use of DDwrapper impair the ability to play through Battle.net?

Yes it does, you cannot log into Battlenet with the wrapper.
Maybe you can find a workaround.

Anyways, I attached the files, just copy-pasta them into you Diablo directory. You can change the resolution of the window, although large resolutions might cause performance issues and anything other than 640x480 will make the ingame Bnet-notifications appear in weird places.

Other than that, while playing it works pretty flawlessly.

If you want your mouse to be locked inside the window you might want to look at other tools like Cursor Lock.

False, I use DDwrapper and have no issues logging onto bnet.
